We are saddened to learn of the passing of Old Boy Peter Golla (SPC 1979-81) on 4 April 2024.
Peter was well known in the music scene, especially for his Neil Diamond tribute show which he toured Australia with. He also sung a number of times on 鈥淕ood Morning Australia鈥� with Bert Newton.
Peter鈥檚 mother was noted entertainer Rae Morgan who starred in television鈥檚 Sunnyside Up compered by legendary racing commentator Bill Collins. Rae鈥檚 father Ted Morgan was a longtime boot maker in Sturt Street who often reminisced about looking after Brother O鈥橫alley鈥檚 shoes. Rae married George Golla, who was the leader of the Sunnyside Up Orchestra. Peter made a significant contribution to music at the College and he greatly changed the attitude towards musical appreciation according to former teacher Peter Farley.
